We are ready for the future..

In line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to build and shape the future of the Kingdom by the hands of the country’s sons, through the development programmes of His Majesty the King’s Reform Project that included aspects of life and national work, Nasser Centre for Science and Technology was established in 2014 to be one of the fruits of this vision, to become a scientific and professional hub that attracts knowledge, experience, and skills.

Today, we have passed the stage of being a centre based on building competencies ready to enter the labour market directly through its vocational, technical, and technological educational tracks. We move towards new horizons filled with hard work to build a pioneer regional scientific city that provides integrated solutions and graduates distinguished Bahraini cadres. This city will be aimed toward the young generations, by educating, training, and empowering them to participate in vital and pioneering sectors such as the energy industry and to adopt future technologies that are based on artificial intelligence.

We started translating our ambitious plan to become a regional scientific city by expanding our educational tracks offered to secondary school students which are in line with the mandates of the 4th industrial revolution. Today we have three advanced educational tracks that include a variety of disciplines of science, such as Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing, as well as our recently introduced and one-of-a-kind track, Sports and Business, which will merge the school studies with football professionalism to scout Bahraini talents in partnership with expertise from the Sports – Football industry in the United Kingdom.

These new educational tracks will ensure exposing our youth to the latest developments in many aspects of the industry locally and globally. It will connect students to hands-on experience from around the world.

Moreover, we have established a Cyber Security programme in our Technological Innovation track, providing our students with the opportunity to enrol in such an important field of the dynamic world of technology.

Furthermore, the establishment of the Nasser Artificial Intelligence for Research & Development Centre, the R&D arm of the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology, is a major step in our transition to the educational city. This centre implements many projects based on future-science technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, analysis, metaverse and many other mandates of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that we live in today. Various projects have been worked on for companies belonging to different sectors such as energy and communication. We have signed with more than 35 government and private entities in Bahrain to provide solutions and training. These efforts led to many milestones achieved including, but not limited to obtaining the Future Award at the Gulf and Middle East Information Technology Exhibition and Conference (GITEX), winning first place for the best project in artificial intelligence for the innovation category in the education sector among 240 public and private institutions in the Middle East and earning the winner the best ECITB training provider for the MENA region in 2022.

We seek to achieve the aspiration of our wise leadership on empowering Bahraini students with the necessary knowledge and various skills, developing educational and training systems, and adopting the best international practices. NCST will continue to partner with many leading institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and internationally, to train and employ the Centre’s students, and to deploy the best practices to assure an enriching educational experience.

On a final note, I take this opportunity to extend my gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the NCST Board of Trustees, for his unwavering support and guidance to the NCST team, in steering our institution towards greater heights and ensuring that our youths are ready for the future.
